The Plow

“When a farmer plows for planting, does he plow continually? Does he keep on breaking up and working the soil? When he has leveled the surface, does he not sow caraway and scatter cumin? Does he not plant wheat in its place, barley in its plot, and spelt in its field? His God instructs him and teaches him the right way.” Isaiah 28:24-26 NIV

Jesus gives us work to do but never more than we can handle. Satan, on the other hand, doesn’t care if he kills you.

Our Mission

Jesus gives us an orientation at Luke 9:62 and another at Matthew 11:25-30. Jesus doesn’t mention the condition of the “earth” we will be “plowing” but assures us that we will be able to achieve our goal. That’s because each of us plow a different plot of soil with different organic compositions. Some of us get rocky hard clay and some of us get rich black soft dirt. I think most of us get something in between.

“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.” 1 Corinthians 3:6 NIV

By Ed Caldwell

I’m mostly retired. Except for some unavoidable honey-dos, I pretty much goof off for a living now. My last career job was designing internet operating circuit boards along with a distinguished team of engineers, managers and support personnel. Prior to that I was an electronics technician evolving into circuit board design in the defense industry working with tactical missile systems. My first career job was a professional artist. During my younger years I worked many odd jobs beginning at age nine with a newspaper delivery route.
